Happy New Year!

So I'm new to this blogging stuff, but I hope in the next year I can get more comfortable with it.  I'm used to people seeing my stuff on my website and emailing to clients, but it seems a lot more difficult to try to explain something that isn't based on a work order.  Like "why is that cat cracking open a beer?", I don't know.  I just though it would be funny.

Godmother

Okay, here it goes...modern Cinderella story featuring a maid instead of a step daughter and the fairy godmother is instead a park avenue madam who hires here.  I don't know, little tacky, but then you've got to be true to yourself right?

Geisha-mania

A piece I'd like to finish someday.  I think it's got a nice look
as a sketch though. You've got to love the geisha style.

Smells like Friskies

Some cat sketches that I did a while back.  They were
concepts for a cat food commercial that fell through.
Pity really.

gorillaz knock-offs

Hey all,
This is a piece I did a while back for some guys who were pitching a new ad line that included some funky new characters.  In general, I don't mind doing spin-off characters too much, it exposes me to a lot of styles, and I appreciate even more the times when I have total creative freedom.  A special shout-out to my friend Sywa for having gotten me this job!

Now, for something cute!

Hey Everyone,  time to post again.  This is an oldie, but I still love it, so sorry to all those who've seen it before.  New stuff to come!

a,b,c book

Hey Guys,
These are for an ABC book I was tentatively working on.  All vector. With a Monster theme.  The first image is the cover with the kids on the stairs in the front and the monster on the back.  Gutter down the middle, obviously.  I was going to title it "House of Monsters: An ABC Book".  I know, original right?  Anyway, I'll keep posting it as it comes through.  I just want to give everyone a taste of what my work looks like.

Almost Halloween!

I decided not to post this to the zombie topic on Art Jumble, but I thought I'd post it here.  Especially as it's almost Halloween!

project update

Hey all,  I'm working on a piece for art jumble, so I thought I'd post my progress here.  My biggest strength has always been the sketch phase.  But nothing establishes mood like color.
So here's the first color comp.  I hope I get to bring it all the way to a finish, but I'm not sure.  My time has been really limited lately.  Anyhow, I hope you like it!  The art jumble group sure is great for building a portfolio.

First Post

From what I understand, the key is to set the bar low.  That way, there are no expectations and therefore no disappointments.  That being said, I hope you enjoy my pretty pictures.

I love Jane Austen period pieces so this is a bit of personal art that I did recently.  I do a lot of reading so my personal stuff reflects whatever writer I happen to be into at the time.  By reading, I mean that I listen to a lot of books on cd while my face is glued to the computer screen.
I like the hip hop culture. So here's a foxy lady for ya!  Personally, I couldn't be more geeky.  But I love being a geek!  Being cool seems like so much upkeep...
